It is 17 days until my wedding and although we are right on track and nothing to catastrophic has happened I am a big ball of stress! There is no logical reason for this stress. Its almost like My mind subconsciously knows brides are supposed to be stressed and obliged without even asking if it was OK with me! anyway, I think it will be loads of fun for all of the family to get together and hopefully enjoy ourselves. My best advice to brides out there. just relax! its not going to be perfect and that is just how weddings go! now if only I could take my own advice!

Soon I will be starting a blog based on the journey taken while launching my skincare line, black sheep skin care. stay tuned!

Yesterday was really productive. Diane and I got the raised beds ready for planting and then planted veggies, We made a flower bed bigger and transplanted irises... then we realized that we dug up too many irises and weeded the other flower beds so we could plant the left over irises in them. then we brushed the horses. then I took a shower because I was filthy! Through all of this I was wearing sunscreen and still managed to get burned to a crisp. My original plan was to prune back my grandmas grapes today but now it looks like i will be staying in trying to recover.

Alaska dog honored for leading troopers to fire

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Buddy the German shepherd was hailed Friday as a hero for guiding Alaska State Troopers through winding back roads to a fire at his owners' workshop.

"Buddy's pluckiness is a bright spot among an otherwise tragic event for the Heinrichs family," Col. Audie Holloway, head of the troopers, said in a statement.

The dog, whose good deed was caught on a patrol car's dashcam video, received a stainless steel dog bowl engraved with words of appreciation from troopers for his "diligence and assistance."

The dashcam video shows Buddy meeting the trooper's vehicle, then dashing to the Caswell Lakes property on April 4.

According to troopers, the dog and owner Ben Heinrichs were in a detached workshop when a heater ignited chemicals. The 23-year-old man ran outside to put out the flames, closing the door to keep the blaze from spreading.

Heinrichs then realized Buddy was still inside the burning building and let the dog out, but suffered minor burns on his face and second-degree burns on his hand. Buddy was not injured.

"Buddy, we need to get help," Heinrichs told the dog, who then ran into the nearby woods and onto Caswell Loop Road.

That's where Buddy encountered the trooper, Terrence Shanigan, whose global positioning device had failed while responding to a call about the fire. He was working with dispatchers to find the property in an area with about 75 miles of back roads.

Troopers said Shanigan was about to make a wrong turn at an intersection when his vehicle lights caught Buddy. The dog eyed the trooper and began running down a side road.

The video shows Buddy occasionally looking back at the patrol car as he raced ahead, galloping around three turns before arriving in front of the blaze, which was very close to the Heinrichs' home. What came next was not caught on the video, but troopers said Buddy jumped up and down and nudged Shanigan as he approached the workshop, then darted into the woods.

From there, the trooper guided firefighters to the scene.

The workshop was destroyed and a shed was heavily damaged, but only some window trim on the house was scorched.

Iran is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries, and the cleric's unusual explanation for why the earth shakes follows a prediction by the president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, that a quake is certain to hit Tehran and that many of its 12 million inhabitants should relocate.

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes," Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media. Women in the Islamic Republic are required by law to cover from head to toe, but many, especially the young, ignore some of the more strict codes and wear tight coats and scarves pulled back that show much of the hair. "What can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble?" Sedighi asked during a prayer sermon last week. "There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam's moral codes." Seismologists have warned for at least two decades that it is likely the sprawling capital will be struck by a catastrophic quake in the near future. Some experts have even suggested Iran should move its capital to a less seismically active location. Tehran straddles scores of fault lines, including one more than 50 miles long, though it has not suffered a major quake since 1830.

In 2003, a powerful earthquake hit the southern city of Bam, killing 31,000 people – about a quarter of that city's population – and destroying its ancient mud-built citadel.

"A divine authority told me to tell the people to make a general repentance. Why? Because calamities threaten us," said Sedighi, Tehran's acting Friday prayer leader. Referring to the violence that followed last June's disputed presidential election, he said: "The political earthquake that occurred was a reaction to some of the actions [that took place]. And now, if a natural earthquake hits Tehran, no one will be able to confront such a calamity but God's power, only God's power ... So let's not disappoint God."

The Iranian government and its security forces have been locked in a bloody battle with a large opposition movement that accuses Ahmadinejad of winning last year's vote by fraud.

Ahmadinejad made his quake prediction two weeks ago but said he could not give an exact date. He acknowledged that he could not order all of Tehran's 12m people to evacuate. "But provisions have to be made ... at least 5 million should leave Tehran so it is less crowded," the president said.

The welfare minister, Sadeq Mahsooli, said prayers and pleas for forgiveness were the best "formulae to repel earthquakes. We cannot invent a system that prevents earthquakes, but God has created this system and that is to avoid sins, to pray, to seek forgiveness, pay alms and self-sacrifice," Mahsooli said.

I woke up this morning and realized that yesterday there were only 60 days left until Nick and I get married. that means today there are only 59 days until we get married. before you know it there will only be 30days and so on! This wedding is creeping up fast and part of me is very, very excited and part of me is really scared! the scared part is all about having so much to do and so little time. Any one who has been happily married or wants to be married will already understand the excitement.

I hope to always be in the situation where I can have some kind of garden. even if its a garden out of pots! Living where I'm at right I have the opportunity to take a part in a large garden! Within the next few days I plan on planting herbs in some pots. and then putting the pots next to the dipper system because as we all know from last year I'm not good at watering things.Next I will be Planting some tomatoes and lettuce. There will probably be carrots, corn, onions, squash and pumpkins and who knows what else! The possibilities are endless! Happy Spring!

I'm really excited to see if they do a good job on the game of thrones. I really enjoyed reading the series and it will be a bummer if they don't do it justice on "the big screen" they have a good cast so here's hoping!

Today I sent off invitations to the wedding. Nick went to Seattle with his best friend Micah today and I went to hang out with Christina. We did a lot of catching up and had lunch at kings row.
Next we looked through year books where I Remembered how much I hated high school and why. Then she taught me how to 10step!

This month Nick and I have watched a few new movies.

Movie #1 Precious This movie is very well made. Its a good movie but it is a very, very
hard subject matter. I'm not sure I will watch this again. Its very good but This movie is too hard for me to watch.

Movie #2 The time Travelers wife. This movie was very good. It was a downer though.

We also watched the 2nd season of Black lagoon. I wish the would release more of them in the U.S.

Holly and Heidi and I went to Tri cities to get their dresses sized. then Holly and Heidi went to the temple and I proceeded home to continue with the flue (I'm Lucky I didn't have serious problems while driving). My stomach is still sensitive but I am recovering.

On more positive notes I saw the blind side which I thought was very good.

Nick is finishing up his job with the author (Terry Winetsky) and Picked up another job creating an advertisement for Shaw and sons. We are excited for new opportunities and more projects to put in his portfolio. The eventual goal is something more steady.

The wedding is coming along and we are getting very excited.

Birthday Bash!

Yesterday Nick and I went to Nicks moms birthday bash! We went and ate at viasniors (which I probably spelled wrong) all you need to know about it is it is a Mexican restaurant. Of course Nick dad told them that it was her birthday so at the end they put a sombrero on her and we all sang happy birthday, the kids sang as elderly people. then we tried to use a $25 off coupon and they added a $22 gratuity. we thought that was interesting. anyway.. If Jen sends me pictures of the night there will be pictures to come!

I realize it has been a very long time since i have really kept up with the blog. Its been very busy. Since the last time I blogged I have paid for a wedding cake ( layers are lemon, chocolate and Bavarian creme, and vanilla bean with raspberry) , made a down payment on flowers, made a down payment on rentals, got my dress fitted, purchased dresses for bridesmaids and flower girls, decided to go with color families instead of specific colors. Still working on invites and time is running out.

things tat I have done that are not wedding related? I have done a lot but the most important is Noni's ( Nick's grandma) Surprise party. It was a lot of fun and Nick and I played "Zombie Apocalypse" with the kids when they got bored with staying inside.

Nick is still looking for a graphics job that is not free lance. He is keeping busy with side jobs though.

as my wedding day approaches I realize how poor I actually am. something that I have been looking for is a cookbook, something along the lines of healthy eating on a budget. I haven't been able to find one so I am thinking about experimenting as I go and making my own cookbook. my first recipe is cake balls. its not really healthy but they are super good and pretty cheap.

Picking bridesmaid dresses is the thing I hate most about wedding planning. you have to find that "perfect" dress that will fit all body types, is in the right color, fits the budget, and in this case is also very modest. Halloween was fun, spending time with the family is always wonderful during thanksgiving. this December is full of adventure!

Next week I am going to a cookie exchange in Tri-cities with Nicks mom and my soon to be sister in law. I think I'm going to make white chocolate macadamia cranberry cookies. we are also going to do a white elephant exchange.

Nick graduates from school December 18th. I didn't realize this until just recently so I am scheduled to work but I am going to do my very very best to get it off!

Unfortunately I probably wont be able to make it to my family Christmas because I work retail and they are going to Vancouver. Christmas in town will still be fun though.

in the next couple of months Nick and I will know if we are going to stay in Yakima a little longer then planned, when and where we are moving, what kind of an exiting job Nick gets... so on and so forth.

Nick and I have been getting ready to get married in the spring as most of you know. Something most of you don't know is that I told him long ago that If he didn't ask me proper I was calling the whole thing off! Well all things come in there own time.

Yesterday I was talking to Roger (Brother in law) on the phone about vitamin D supplements and out of the blue Nick started "herding" me to walk a different direction. I told Roger I needed to go see what Nick needed. Its not every day he tries to herd me.

Nick told me he just wanted to go for a walk with me. So we walked down the gravel road talking randomly as we often do on our walks. I stopped to play with the goats down the road. on our way back he spun me around and told me he had something he wanted to give me. I was pretty sure I knew what it was. He kissed me and told me that was all ( hes so cute when hes nervous), I thanked hm. then he pulled the box out and told me he had been carrying it around all day. Nick got on his knee in the middle of the gravel road and asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him. I hugged him and cried. Nick asked me again, just to make sure It was a yes I'm sure.

Nick then told me a few of the plans he had to ask me. one of them was that he was going to send me on a state long scavenger hunt including places we have been together. the other was to ask in the middle of the engagement picture shoot. although either of these would have been fun, I like that it was more personal, doing something we like to do.

OK... so I have been looking up wedding Ideas. I kinda' know what I want in my head but I'm trying to find something that resembles my idea. I have tried looking for pictures of things in my head before and it never works so I don't know why I try! Anyway... I typed in "classy wedding" and got some pictures that make me wonder if people know what class is. some speak for them selves and others I thought were just funny.

in my opinion this is not classy! on your wedding day you should look elegant! this reminds me of something that could be used for the wedding night! FYI the bride is 16. see article.

Fred Meyer Got a giant pumpkin in . The whole day I tried to figure out how a $40 pumpkin would fit into my budget!

It's 144 pounds ( I would need someone else to carry it, its bigger then I am), 84 inches around, beautiful Orange color, minimal scaring, flat bottom, nice stem, and good round shape. that information was for "pumpkin snobs" like Nick.

No Its not really that big and I don't think Fred Meyer tucks it in at night.

I really like the Idea of ridiculously large pumpkins!

I love October... with exception of being cold its one of my favorite months! Why you ask? this is the month that things start turning beautiful fall colors, the holiday baking begins, and Halloween celebration!

Yesterday I made Macaroons for the first time! they aren't very halloweeny but they were good.

Nick and I bought pumpkins to carve, we weren't actually able to carve them this weekend but maybe next weekend.

I am also in the midst's of brainstorming a great costume!

Have you ever notice how one thing happens and it changes the life of sometimes one person, sometimes several people? Of course once things are done they cannot be undone so sometimes those lives are forever changed.

I've never been good at writing, Most of the time I don't have much of an opinion and I don't use a lot of words.

The only thing I can say is that you had a great impact in my life. You were the kind of person that made the lives of others better just by knowing them. The world seemed a better place with you in it. Never forgotten, forever missed. Loved by... I wont venture to say all... but definitely most. You did so much for your country, your comunity, and your family. You are and always have been one of my heros. I hope I can be as great a person you were. Life is long but we will meet again...one day.

In answer to Kitty's question about the move, today I am going to blog on... well... the move!

Yes its true I'm in Yakima again. I don't have all of my things with me but I should by the end of the month. My moving weekend was a hectic one as Heidi ( my youngest sister) was having her baby while I was driving to Yakima. There have been some stressful moments but for the most part everything went as planned.

I have some opportunities in Yakima that I didn't have in Vancouver. I don't want to stay in Yakima any longer then I have to but I love being close to the people I know and love. Thank you for asking Kitty! All is well! Sometimes I feel like the chicken though.

when I got home there was a plethora of COOKIES ON THE COUNTER! Melissa said they were the best cookies ever. I wasn't sure she was telling the truth. Its hard for some people to understand but I am going to Move back to Yakima for a while. this means I will have to change my blog description. Nick and I have been "dating" for approximately 3 years. 2 of those 3 have been long distance. the more you love someone the harder it is to be away from them for an extended period of time. I love Nick more every day so every day it gets harder to stay away. in conclusion I must Move back to Yakima for my own sanity and happiness. Its like I'm going back home as "home is where the heart is."

The stinky life of Mr. Poops

No one is going to appreciate this like Nick and I but My last present from nick was a toy called Mr. Poops. This is his story.

"Abandoned at birth, Mr. Poops could not understand why no one would want him. Alone, in the hot sun, he was left to dry out with no hope of survival. with each passing dog he hoped that he would not e so dried out that no one would recognize him as they sniffed looking to find their own family.

Good fortune fell upon Mr. Poops when a rain storm washed him into a storm drain where he was able to float his way to a store near you. Please adopt Mr. Poops and give him the family he deserves. Reunite him with a dog that wants to put him in their mouth and squeak him with unconditional love only a dog could provide."

Yes, Mr. Poops is a dog toy. Yes I love Mr poops for entertainments sake. Nick also got me the 2ND season to flight of the Concorde's. That will be saved for another Blog though.

pillows for rings?

Nick and I were brain storming about ring bearer pillows. we wanted something a little more original then your typical white pillow. we started thinking of other things we could use as instead of pillows. there were a few ideas but the one that stuck was boxes. so. I'm thinking about asking my dad to make ring bearer boxes and I will sew a little tiny pillow to go inside the box. the rings should be safe that way and most people don't use boxes.

When you look at wedding pictures usually you see the beautiful woman with the beautiful long hair and the men with their hair cropped short. sometimes the brides wear their hair up and sometimes they wear their hair down. Nick and I are not very traditional people. don't get me wrong, I'm sure we will have traditions we fallow weather it is Sunday morning waffles, Friday night movies, or whatever they may be. We want our wedding to reflect "us". So Nick is keeping his long hair and I my short. there are other nontraditional thing we will be doing, but that's for another blog altogether.

They are called Scottish Fold Kittens.

Nick and I thought that they are soooo cute. We cant wait to have our first cat together. They are an expensive breed but we aren't looking for show quality. We are hoping to get lucky and find one in a cat rescue.

One day, about three years ago while Nick and I were working at PetCo, I was helping a customer when I heard a panicked girly scream "Oh my God" and "AHHHHHAAAAHHH." When I finished with my customer, I sprinted across the store where I found Nick huddled on the floor trying to catch his breath. I asked if he was OK (trying not to laugh out loud . . . or snort) and he said in a quivery voice "OH MY BALLS, I will never have kids;" this is when I couldn't contain the laughter any longer (I nearly peed my pants.) When Nick was able to talk using full sentences, I asked him what happened and he whimpered that he had been asked to fix some equipment in the fish tanks. A power head and light fixture had been shorting out and he had forgotten to wear his rubber boots. Basically water+electricity= KFG (Kentucky Fried Gentiles.) It was pretty serious because Nick did get a big shock and remained pouty for the next few days . . . and it was hard not to poke fun! After that, Nick went on to receive "several" more shocks, stabs, bumps and whacks to the groin; he still whines about it even today.

As you know we are getting married so I hope that his "little men" remained in tact. If not... we can always adopt.

I hope this blog was not offensive... If it was... I still think its funny and you should too! ZZZZAAP!

When I watched Glee on hulu it was from shear boredom. I honestly expected the whole high school musical thing. although High school musical was pretty popular among some groups of people, I thought It was mildly entertaining but overall pretty lame. Glee was actually pretty funny. I would watch more... If they ever make more!

sneak peak for the next episode. I liked that they used converse on the background dancers. I'm thinking about putting my bridesmaids in Chocolate colored converse... Only without the heels.

It is soooo hot! caution: this post may not be word for word. It was a week ago and I didn't write it down.

About a week ago I go to leave work and like always I looked at my phone. I had 2 voice mails that went something like this.

Voicemail #1 from Nick: I hate of crickets! and these people didn't just say 24 large or small of crickets they said they wanted 24 of crickets! then I asked how many crickets they would like and they said 24 small of crickets! I think they saw my eye twitch because they took a step back! I hate of crickets!

I'm sorry I didn't write the whole thing down because it was really more entertaining then I have shown. I know he said something about of cricket people dieing. you have to understand that nick has gone several years listening to several people a day with the same grammatical error. It just makes him hate Yakima that much more.

Secondly... I am under the impression that Nick and I will no longer be having a themed wedding. Some of the people that were gong to me in the wedding were not comfortable with dressing up to a theme. so Its back to square one with wedding clothing. I will let you all know how it goes.

Tonight Melissa and Roger and I went to see Harry Potter. I think the girls sitting behind me were high, and Roger was sitting next to what he called " the human laugh track". Other then that I would have to say the movie was rather enjoyable. I didn't read the books though. From what I understand like other Books that were turned into movies, the book is better then the movie. still a good watch!

He tried it on and found it wasn't as comfortable as this one.No I couldn't purchase a ring because as stated in one of my previous blogs I had to purchase tires as a result of an unfortunate turn of events.

Nick and I went to a bonfire this weekend. Only to my surprise Nick was in charge of bringing the wood. We didn't remember the wood. It was still fun though. we had hot dogs and watched mystery science theatre 3000. Before hand Nick and I went to cold stone and got some ice cream. It was Nicks first time there, he said it was very good but he still likes Renaissance ice cream better.

Then on Sunday I ate dinner with my family and looked at wedding clothes with my mom and dad.

I started out to Yakima 9 am yesterday. About half way there about 2\3 of the tread of my driver side front tire flew off! I pulled over to call Roger about 14 miles from Biggs. Roger googled the nearest tire place. google maps said the nearest one was about 2 miles down Rufus road in Biggs. so I put on my hazard lights and drove super slow to Biggs and turned down Rufus.. about 5 miles down Rufus I spotted a shell station. I went inside and asked the clerk ( shaggy blond hair, ears stretched, about 17 years old) where the closest tire place was. he said about 25 miles in the opposite direction. so I went back to my car and told roger what happened so he could google again.he asked what street I was on and I went to ask because there really weren't any road signs. the clerk didn't know. so we went outside and I asked a guy that was standing by the pay phone what street we were on. he was something you would expect to see in a movie. big thick glasses, thick black uni brow, buck teeth. he told me the street and that they had a tire station about 5 miles the other direction across from the pilot station. so I got back in my car hazard lights flashing going as slow as a snail till i made it to the service station the gentleman told me of. walked in there and asked if they could change my tire for me. he said that they do change tires there but that the guy that does it wouldn't there till the next day. he told me the next closest tire place was in the Dalles ( 20 miles away). I couldn't risk being caught somewhere in the middle because my tire blew off my car so I made some phone calls and my brother in law Bryan was coming to rescue me. I read a book while waiting. Bryan took the tire off and took me to the Dalles to get a new one. I finally made it to my destination in Yakima about 5:30pm. Probably needless to say I missed my shopping experience with Savannah. maybe next time.

I decided to go antique with mine. the diamond in antique rigs has whats called "fire" instead of "brilliance". it has the color if fire in the light. also every stone is unique because they are hand carved.

sorry for the silence guys...I've been in a funk. I've had this really bad attitude about work and I've had to be there a lot lately.

Thankfully I will be going back to Yakima on Thursday. I happened to get a chunk of time off all blocked together so its like a mini. vacation! (in my opinion the sign should say the armpit of Washington. I like to go there because that's where all my friends and family are.)

I don't know the whole list of things I'm going to do but on Thursday I'm going shopping with Savannah, Saturday we are going to have a bonfire, somewhere in there I'm going to go see my family and Nick and I have to make some final decisions on wedding stuff. I also hope to work on some creative writing with Nick for his portfolio.

Hopefully this trip will lift my spirits and pull me out of my funk. I will also try to keep up on posting a little better.

I think we are going to use Calla lilies and white veronica for our wedding. Like this!
The brides maids will probably have a mini. version of my bouquet and flower girls will probably hold one flower. Although I am leaving the boutonnieres up to Nick I can imagine them being one Calla Lillie and bear grass or something like that. who knows, maybe we wont have boutonnieres!

Bagby Hot Springs

I woke up this morning and on the desk there was a Portland monthly magazine opened up to the page with a Bagby Hot springs article. I decided depending on how active Nick feels next time he visits we will either go to the beach or go on the 3 mile hike through the woods to the Bagby hot springs where they have bath houses full of spring water you can soak in. we will just be careful to try to choose the bath house with clothed people as nude is allowed! There are some water falls 15 min away from the springs. I'm not sure if we should do that before we soak or after. hmmmm.

I have been reading... yes I do read! No one thinks of food as a Cancer causing, disease creating, energy destroyer. No not all food, but the wrong kind of food which I'm finding is more things then I suspected. I will give you a few facts ( I will try not to get out of hand). There are a few things to touch on so I will split it up into several blogs. today I will talk about additives.

Indeed, MSG sensitive people suffer similar adverse reactions from aspartame, providing that they ingest amounts that exceed their tolerance levels, and vise verse.

If you don't know, aspartame is also used in rat poison!

In order to keep this short (er) I will just add that there are also quotes expressing that just because the FDA says its safe does not mean they actually tested it. Companies like to use the phrase "there is no evidence to that proves that" when all it means is they didn't really test it so there isn't any evidence at all. also that MSG and other additives poison your body and cause head aches, loss of energy, and weight gain.

I personally don't understand why no one has put a stop to the additives in food.

Lacuna Coil

A few years back, Nick took me to see the lacuna coil concert that played in Seattle.

I don't remember the whole list of people that played that night ( Nick is the one to asked for that). I do remember stolen babies being there ( Nick bought a CD from them).

We were getting ready to go and I had a long sleeve shirt on. Nick told me it was a small venue so long sleeves wouldn't be a good idea. He let me borrow one of his shirts. It wasn't until later that I realized I was totally unprepared.

We were waiting in line to get into the building when Nick welcomed me to Seattle. I looked up at him a little confused and then I saw. There was a woman walking by without a shirt on and her nipples covered with electrical tape. she was not the only one I saw dressed in that fashion.

once in we got ear plugs that didn't fit in my ears, It was really hot and crowded. We listened through several bands and the longer we listened the hotter it got. the security guards started spraying people with water to keep anyone from overheating... unfortunately they didn't think it was as important for the people that weren't on the floor next to the stage. I got through all of the bands and I realized I was going to be sick.

Lesson learned: when you go to a concert dress like one of the electrical tape girls! That way you don't get too hot while at the concert and nearly die! Just joking I wouldn't dress like that... I will dress for the heat though!

pottery

for today's wedding Wednesday I wanted to tell you about the pottery we will be using! something that is important to nick and is only slightly less important to me is that things that we use in our wedding don't look mass produced. we wanted it to look more " handmade". after having this conversation with Nick I realized that I know of someone that makes pottery as an on the side business.

Valerie Blessly is a very talented woman. Her and her husband make instruments, she is a performer of the harp and kentle, she makes pottery, and she is an English teacher.

what are we doing with hand made pots you ask? we are going to plant rosemary, sage, and maybe thyme in them for center pieces on our tables! I took some pictures of her pottery but the computer wouldn't download them for some reason. I also looked for some pictures online that might look similar and all of them look like they were pulled out of an assembly line.

Precious time

I have been quiet and blogless this weekend. Nick was able to spend one day with me. Saturday. He drove up after work Friday and got to my house at 12:30 a.m. The time was precious . We did absolutely nothing. this was our time to be in each others presence and that was all I wanted. We could talk face to face, play and laugh together. 11a.m. Sunday morning; I was at work and Nick was on his way back home. I remind myself that this is how things need to be for now and I wait for next time.

The rebellion

After work I drive around the block so I can park on the street the way you are supposed to. One day I noticed there were at least 20 other cars in the neighborhood parked "illegally". If someone wanted to give me a ticket then they would be giving a lot of tickets that day. So I decided I'm going to be a rebel! I'm not going to drive around the block to park the "right" way!

Of course when Holly followed me to Vancouver from Yakima I did my usual parking job and Holly followed me in. She was only there for about 4 hours and her car was hit and then the perpetrator "ran".

A few days later I walked into the house after work. Holly's eyes were as big as saucers and she exclaimed, “do you know that we are parked illegally?" while taking my shoes off I told her that I did. She said, "Oh", and turned to walk away. I asked what brought that on and she said that the officer that was at the door told her. After I asked holly a few questions she explained that the police found the person that hit her car. She was a 90 year old lady that didn't know what she hit. Luckily she has insurance. The officer also said that although we are parked illegally they don't really care on the street we live on. So I will continue my rebellion.

If you know Holly you know that she would never do anything illegal...even if it was just going over the speed limit, or parking the wrong way on the street.

I remember when I was a kid this song was about the coolest thing ever! Melissa, Holly and our aunt Lisa choreographed a dance to this song about 20 years ago. If you were to ask Melissa now she would say that she doesn't remember. I had fun jumping around on the side line.

Adelir Antonio, 51, was not so lucky.

His audacious attempt to set a world record for clustered balloon flight was intended to publicize his plan to build a spiritual rest stop for truckers. But, as truckers know, sitting for 19 hours in a lawn chair is not a trivial matter even in the comfort of your own backyard. The priest took numerous safety precautions, including wearing a survival suit, selecting a buoyant chair, and packing a satellite phone and a GPS. However, the late Adelir Antonio made a fatal mistake.

He did not know how to use the GPS.

The winds changed, as winds do, and he was blown inexorably toward open sea. He could have parachuted to safety while over land, but chose not to. When the voyager was perilously lost at sea, he prudently phoned for help--but rescuers were unable to determine his location, since he could not use his GPS. He struggled with the unit as the charge on the satellite phone dwindled.

Instead of a GPS, the priest let God be his guide, and God guided him straight to heaven. Bits of balloons began appearing on mountains and beaches. Ultimately the priest's body surfaced, confirming that he, like Elvis, had left the building.

Yes I wanted to stay away from anything that resembled white... It is an off white and other then that I think it will work great! Its really hard to find a dress to fit a theme, color and style of your wedding and still look at the modesty criteria and have it be a cute dress!

If someone were to ask me where I like to shop the most I would most likely be speechless. "ME? Shop?" after really thinking about the question I came to the conclusion that I do get really excited when the ThinkGeek catalog comes in the mail. I also have to call Nick and tell him all about the cool new Items they may have advertised.

If you cant tell from the name Think geek is an online shop that has a lot of cool/geeky things. For example a shirt that plays theme music for you at the touch of a button. Or shower shock soap. I haven't ever used it but I have heard that Its like having a cup of coffee in the morning.

A few years back I got Nick light sabres for his birthday off this site. Last Halloween Roger bought all of his prizes for his Halloween party off this site.

My firstborn will definitely be wearing this.

When Nick started the Graphics design program at Perry Tech He was led to believe the placement rate is 95%.

He has been going through this program for a year now and has found out that the placement rate is really about 7%. They were able to say 95% because people were made to acquire a master business licence to start their own business; thus "having" a job. Not all of the students that got their business license actually started their business.

Also as you have probably read on nicks school update there isn’t a degree involved as he originally thought. If he completes this program he gets a certificate of completion, he could spend the extra 6 months to get an AA but now he is learning that none of the colleges will transfer the credits from Perry Tech so there is no point in getting the AA. He just has to start over at a different school in order to get a degree.

On the bright side Nick is very talented at what he does. I am so proud of him every time I see one of his projects and I know that everything will work out. Even if he has to start over at another school we will get through it and he has a head start on the knowledge. I know that Nick will do well in whatever he decides to do.

Be happy Nick. This is a crappy thing but 10 years from now you will look back and say, “Wow that sucked!” and then in the next thought you will think about how even though it wasn’t what you expected to happen, everything worked out.
